A panel discussion in February 2009

Multi-talented professionals and curious practitioners are redirecting the sequence of design process and invention. Architects trained as engineers, designers inventing new materials, and students able to fabricate their projects encompass the integration of related but traditionally separate practices. The three featured projects each result from multiple types of technical training fused through integrated research and experimentation. Panelists Phillip Anzalone, Chuck Hoberman, and Tristan d'Estree Sterk discussed the process and challenges of cross-disciplinary collaboration and the increasing demand of such cooperation in design and technological innovation with Nina Rappaport.
